CEU San Pablo University Choir


Directed by José María Álvarez since 2002. It has eight international tours, numerous awards, more than 300 works in the catalogue, among which the symphonic choral works such as 'El Mesías' and 'Dixit Dominus' by Handel stand out; 'Christmas Oratorio' and 'Magnificat' by JS Bach; 'Gloria', by Vivaldi; 'Requiem', by Mozart-Levin; 'The Creation', by Haydn, etc.

Choir and Orchestra of the Autonomous University


In 2019 José María Álvarez assumed the deputy directorship of the Orchestra and Choir of the Autonomous University of Madrid (OCUAM) and in January 2021 he was named principal conductor of both groups. Since then, a new stage of renewal has begun in the methodology and repertoire of both groups, as well as the musicians who work in both as teachers, professionalizing these positions.

Maximilian Kolbe Choir


José María Álvarez has directed the Maximiliano Kolbe Choir since 2007, both in Primary and Secondary. With them he has won First Prize in the Community of Madrid School Choir Competition eight times and has been chosen as Best Director of the Competition five times. They also hold a First Prize in the National School Choir Competition awarded by the Ministry of Education. Every year they perform symphonic-choral concerts at the Kolbe International School.

Big Voices


Big Voices is the new children's and youth choir of the Madrid Choral School. José María Álvarez has taken its direction since September 2021. This choir is defined as a point of cultural integration through the choral music of students from different educational centers in the Tetuán District.

Orfeón Moratalaz


Directed by José María Álvarez since January 2021, this choir, with a great musical tradition, is being renewed in all its facets thanks to his work.
